Laura Cardwell, Managing Director of Lymm Truckwash, is hosting a Driver Day in support of a range of mental health charities, including: YoungMinds, The Calm Zone, Andy’s Man Club and Heads Together to raise awareness of supporting HGV drivers’ wellbeing. Maple are delighted to be supporting the event, to be held on Thursday 29th April.
The event will celebrate the huge role that commercial vehicle drivers have played throughout the pandemic, but also highlight the challenging and isolating environment in which they work. It is important that we all take time consider our mental wellbeing and openly talk about mental health, particularly during what has been a uniquely challenging year.
As a male dominated profession it is a particularly poignant subject and now more than ever it is vital that we that we acknowledge the importance of men’s mental health and combat the alarming rates of male suicide in the UK.
The Lymm Truckwash event will include competitions, freebies and talks from experts in the logistics industry to give advice and support to HGV drivers and other workers within the industry who are attending the event. Maple will be joining Highways England, D4 Drivers, Radcat, Washtec, as well as a number of fantastic mental health charities such as, YoungMinds, The Calm Zone, Andy’s Man Club and Heads Together, as part of a move towards improving the mental health of HGV drivers and navigating a path for future support.
The event will be held outside, with social distancing measures in place – we are very much looking forward to getting back out and interacting with our industry peers as we take steps towards the end of a turbulent year!
