SafeLoader & SafeConnect Shortlisted for Awards

We are thrilled to announce that Maple Fleet Services have been shortlisted for two individual SHP-IOSH Awards. With the winners to be revealed at the esteemed London Hilton Hotel on the 24th October, the SHP-IOSH Awards celebrates the very best achievements of the health and safety profession.

The Safety & Health Practitioner (SHP) is the official magazine of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) and the associated annual awards recognise the efforts and achievements of those individuals and companies that have gone the extra mile. Far from simply awarding companies based on their financial commitment to health and safety, the awards commend the scale of the achievement and the benefits gained.

Aptitude for Innovation

2013 is proving to be a year filled with celebrations and recognition for Maple; having collected the prestigious Motor Transport Innovation Award with SafeConnect just four weeks ago, once again our aptitude for innovative design and attention to detail has caught the judge’s attention.

SafeConnect, a safe coupling device designed specifically to prevent rollaway incidents whilst coupling tractor and trailer units, has been nominated within the Innovation category. Meanwhile SafeLoader, which address the issue of early departures from loading bays whilst loading & unloading and was developed in conjunction with Royal Mail, has been shortlisted for the Partnership award.

Both SafeConnect and SafeLoader have been developed to address two types of accidents which have historically plagued the commercial logistics sector, causing damage to infrastructure, injury and even fatalities. These two applications address some serious, long standing threats to employee safety within the logistics arena, offering a genuine solution that can be realistically and cost effectively rolled out across the industry.

“We are delighted to have been shortlisted for two SHP-IOSH Awards, especially as we are still celebrating our recent Motor Transport Award with SafeConnect. As a forward thinking, solution lead company it means a great deal to us that we have been recognised for our achievements.

We have always strongly believed that both SafeConnect and SafeLoader have the potential to end these needless injuries and fatalities. To see not one, but two of our products shortlisted in this year’s SHP-IOSH awards is a great achievement in its self, fingers crossed for the presentation night in October!” commented Maple Fleet Services’ Marketing Manager Paul Nunn.
